General Licensing Section Information
The Licensing Section is responsible for reviewing applications and assuring compliance with applicable statutes, of persons who are seeking licensure for Boiler, Electrical, Elevator, Mechanical, Plumbing, Inspector/Plan Reviewer, Residential Builder, and renewal of these registrations and licenses.
NOTE: Most but not all applications/amendments can be submitted online via Accela at https://aca-prod.accela.com/LARA/Login.aspx Paper application/amendment forms can be found under BCC Forms. Please note: our processing time may be up to 3-5 weeks and applications are reviewed in order of receipt.
APPLICATION FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT MULTIPLE APPLICATIONS. SUBMITTING MULTIPLE APPLICATIONS WILL ONLY SLOW THE APPLICATION PROCESS AND NO APPLICATION FEES WILL BE REFUNDED.

Applicant Information for Licensing/Registration and Examinations
Boiler- To learn more about applying for Boiler Operator/Stationary Engineer, Boiler Installer or Boiler Repairer licensure.
Code Official- To learn more about applying for Building Inspector/Plan Reviewer, Electrical Inspector/Plan Reviewer, Mechanical Inspector/Plan Reviewer, Plumbing Inspector/Plan Reviewer, Fire Protection System Inspector/Plan Reviewer or Building Official registration.
Electrical- To learn more about Electrical Apprentice/Fire Alarm Apprentice Technician registration or Electrical Journeyman, Master Electrician, Fire Alarm Specialty Technician, Sign Specialist or Electrical/Fire Alarm/Sign Contractor licensure.
Elevator- To learn more about applying for Elevator Journeyperson/Contractor licensure and Elevator Certificate of Competency.
Mechanical- To learn more about applying for mechanical contractor licensure.
Plumbing- To learn more about applying for Apprentice Plumber registration or Journey Plumber, Master Plumber or Plumbing Contractor licensure.
Residential Builder/Maintenance & Alteration- To learn more about applying for Individual Residential Builder, Maintenance & Alteration (M&A) Contractor, Builder Company, M&A Company, Residential Builder Salesperson or Branch Office licensure.
Military Examination Waiver Procedure- For applicants who are a member of the armed forces or uniformed services, veterans who were honorably discharged, or a dependent of a member of the armed forces or uniformed services, or a veteran who was honorably discharged. Please note: this is only for individuals who meet the criteria listed AND hold a valid license/registration in another state requesting waiver of the exam. This is NOT for applicants only trying to waive fees with the application based on service/veteran status.
