COVID-19: BCC OFFICE CLOSURES
In order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, the Bureau of Construction Codes (BCC), is transitioning to new processes and procedures to continue to serve the public and industry stakeholders in a manner that implements social distancing.
Our objective is to not disrupt the services and support that you receive from the BCC Team. As such, we ask for your understanding during this state of emergency and provide your questions and requests to BCC by email at: email@example.com, and we will respond as quickly as possible. If you would like a return phone call, please provide the best time and number for a team member to connect with you.
You can also contact us at 517-241-9302.
Also we strongly encourage you conduct business with us online at: https://aca3.accela.com/LARA/Default.aspx.
For disciplinary matters, submit documentation or make inquiries related to disciplinary actions to: LARA-BCC-Compliance@michigan.gov.
PSI TESTING SITES ARE NOW OPEN
As of June 3, 2020, PSI resumed testing. Applicants whose eligibility expired while testing sites were closed due to the emergency (between March 13, 2020 and June 2, 2020) will have their eligibility extended until October 3, 2020.
Additionally, due to a surge in testing demand and limited seating, applications in the system prior to June 3, 2020 will have their eligibility extended by four (4) months to assure applicants have their full year worth of eligibility. Applications moving forward (beginning June 4, 2020), will go back to the original eligibility process which gives the applicant one (1) year to take and pass their licensure examination.
Applicants should contact PSI to schedule their examination by going to https://candidate.psiexams.com/index.jsp or by calling 855-579-4635.
The Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs has great diversity of licenses and regulation within its oversight.
Our LARA Veteran Liaisons may be able to help you navigate through the process and programs within our Department. This is an initiative offered to veterans to receive assistance getting to the appropriate area under LARA’s authority by speaking to a LARA employee who is also a veteran.
Upon contacting the Department, you can request to speak with a LARA Veteran Liaison. Based on up-front information provided, you will be directed to an appropriate liaison.
LARA is proud to be recognized as a Veteran-Friendly Employer committed to military veteran recruitment, traning and retention practices. LARA is dedicated to bridging the gap between civilian employment and helping veterans gain and retain employment.
