NEW Journey Plumber Licensing Requirements - Practical Exam
2018 PLUMBING CODE AND RENEWALS
The 2018 Michigan Plumbing Code went into effect on September 15, 2021. Licensees now have one year to complete the required code update course. Completion of a code update course is required for license renewal. Once code update courses are approved and available, they can be found by going to www.CEBroker.com.
NEW JOURNEY PLUMBER LICENSING REQUIREMENTS
Effective in 2022, Journey Plumber applicants will be required to take and pass a two-part examination consisting of both a written and practical skills test prior to the issuance of a license.
Journey plumbing exam applicants whose applications are received no later than December 14, 2021, will only be required to take and pass the written exam.
Journey plumbing exam applicants whose applications are received December 15, 2021 or later, will be required to take and pass both the practical and written portions of the exam. Applicants will be required to use the new journey plumber specific application available here.
Failure to pass both portions of the journey examination within one year from the date of application will require a new application and fee. A passing score from only one section of the examination will not apply to a new application.
