Build your birding skills with educators from the Department of Natural Resources before exploring Belle Isle on a guided spring migration tour.
This Becoming an Outdoors Woman workshop will start indoors at Belle Isle Nature Center with an introduction to bird identification, binoculars and gear and top birding spots. Then we’ll head out for a guided walk to practice your skills and enjoy the spring migration on Belle Isle.
Binoculars are available to borrow, or you can bring your own.
Cost is $15, which includes light refreshments and a birding book.
To register for BOW programs, go to and click on the "Purchase a license" button. Sign in (using either a username and password or your ID and birthdate), and find the class under the Becoming an Outdoors Woman tab.

A Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry into Belle Isle Park.
