The Adult Foster Care (AFC) and Homes for the Aged (HFA) Licensing Division establishes licenses for settings that care for older adults (55 and older) and individuals with a mental illness, and/or a developmental or physical disability. Below is a short video presentation on licensed ‘assisted living’ facilities (AFC and HFA) in Michigan. In this video, we will explain the difference between AFC and HFA licenses and demonstrate how to look up licensed AFC and HFA facilities, licensing inspection reports, and special investigation reports on the division’s website.
