Healthy Soils for Strong Farms
Healthy Soils for Strong Farms
The Osceola–Lake Conservation District is proud to host “Healthy Soils for Strong Farms” that is a full-day educational event bringing world-class soil health expertise to northern Michigan.
This event features an exceptional lineup of nationally recognized leaders in soil health and regenerative agriculture:
- Ray Archuleta — world-renowned soil scientist, educator, and advocate for soil function, known for his dynamic demonstrations and ability to make soil biology come alive for producers. Come see Ray share the rainfall simulator!
- Monte Bottens — innovative crop and livestock farmer whose systems-based approach integrates regenerative cropping, grazing, and business strategy to build resilient, profitable operations.
- Dr. Matt Poore — respected grazing expert and livestock specialist whose work helps farmers design adaptive grazing systems that improve forage productivity, animal performance, and long-term land health.
Together, these speakers will deliver practical, field-tested insights that farmers can apply—whether they manage row crops, hay, pasture, or livestock. Attendees will learn how healthy soils strengthen farm resilience, reduce input dependence, and support long-term profitability.
The Osceola–Lake Conservation District invites producers, landowners, ag professionals, and community members to join us for a day of learning, connection, and hands-on soil health education!
