The Corporations Division promotes economic development and growth by facilitating the formation of business entities in Michigan. The Division provides services that enable corporations, limited partnerships, limited liability companies, and limited liability partnerships to be formed, and for foreign entities to obtain a certificate of authority to transact business.
We strongly encourage you conduct business with us online through our Corporations Online Filing System (COFS) at www.michigan.gov/corpfileonline, instead of by U.S. mail, FedEx, or UPS.
If you are submitting a document for an existing entity, then the first step is to log-in to the system with the entity's pre-assigned Customer ID Number (CID) and PIN. If you have forgotten the CID or PIN, please visit our CID/PIN Recovery Page to obtain that information.
