September 29, 2020 – The Dept. of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) has summarily suspended and issued a notice of intent to revoke the adult foster care family home license for James Hubert – 5454 Londonderry Street, Kentwood – for violations related to inadequate care and supervision.

LARA’s actions resulted from a September 23, 2020 complaint investigation conducted at the adult foster care home. The investigation found the licensee in violation of the Adult Foster Care Facility Licensing Act and administrative rules regarding residents being left alone with no one appropriately staffing and caring for the residents. LARA took emergency action to protect the health, welfare, and safety of vulnerable adults.

Effective September 25, 2020, the summary suspension order prohibits Hubert from operating an adult foster care family home at 5454 Londonderry Street, Kentwood, or at any other address or location. Accordingly, Hubert may not accept physically handicapped, developmentally disabled, mentally ill or aged adults for care after that date and time. The order also requires Mr. Hubert to inform all guardians of adults in his care that his license has been suspended and that he can no longer provide adult foster care services.
