June 23, 2021 - The Dept. of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA), Child Care Licensing Bureau (CCLB), has summarily suspended and issued a notice of intent to revoke the child care group home license of Heather Putt, located at 7906 N. 44th St., Kalamazoo.
Effective June 22, 2021, the summary suspension order prohibits Putt from operating a child care group home at 7906 N. 44th St., Kalamazoo, or at any other address or location. Accordingly, she may not accept children for care after that date and time. The order also requires the licensee to inform all parents of children in her care that the license has been suspended and that she can no longer provide child care.
LARA's actions resulted from a June 18, 2021 complaint investigation conducted at the child care group home. The investigation found violations of the Child Care Organizations Act and administrative rules, including but not limited to the following:
- Appropriate care and supervision
It was critical to take emergency action to protect the health, welfare, and safety of the children at the Putt child care group home.
Since LARA has summarily suspended the license, an administrative hearing will promptly be scheduled before an administrative law judge with the Michigan Office of Administrative Hearings and Rules.
