The role of commissions and councils is to provide a public forum for policy development and implementation, as well as advise state agencies on initiatives to improve efficiency, cost effectiveness, and innovations. Partnerships ensure research, technology, and education programs are coordinated with federal, state, and local transportation agencies and organizations.

State Transportation Commission

State Transportation Commission (STC) is the policy-making body for all state transportation programs. It is comprised of six members appointed by the governor with the advice and consent of the State Senate.
