ACEC Partnership

MDOT and the American Council of Engineering Companies of Michigan (ACEC/MI) have entered into a Partnership Charter Agreement to continue to develop an enhanced business partnership based on mutual trust, collaborative teamwork, effective communication, continuous product and process improvement, and timely resolution/avoidance of problems.

MDOT and ACEC/MI commit to excellence through partnership to achieve our common goal of serving and connection people, communities and the economy through transportation.

The Partnership Charter Agreement expresses the renewed commitment to continuous improvement, teaming and measurement to consistently provide the highest quality products and services for the State of Michigan.

MDOT-ACEC Partnership Charter Award

MDOT and ACEC/MI are currently accepting nominations for the thirteenth annual MDOT-ACEC Partnership Charter Award.

This award recognizes project managers and consultants for their commitment to excellence and promoting an enhanced business partnership based on the ideals outlined in the MDOT/ACEC Partnership Charter Agreement. These ideals include mutual trust, effective communication, continuous improvement, embracing innovation and timely issue resolution. 

The award will be judged equally on five important principles:

  • Providing Cost-Effective, High-Quality Services
  • Partnering in Streamlining Business Practices
  • Engaging in Effective Communication
  • Commitment to Transparency and Accountability
  • Promoting Innovation and Sustainability

Projects accomplished by a team effort between MDOT project managers and ACEC consultants are eligible to receive this award. The MDOT Office of Organizational Development will accept applications for the 2024 award through Dec. 13, 2024. Projects must be substantially complete and ready for use between Nov. 1, 2022, and Oct. 31, 2024, to be eligible for the 2024 award year. The 2024 award will be announced at the MDOT-ACEC Workshop on Friday, Feb. 7, 2025.
