Projects and studies

Major road and bridge construction projects can last several months or longer, and may involve significant delays. MDOT is responsible for all state-owned roads/highways with an I, M, and US route designation (ex: I-94, M-21, US-23). The list of major region projects is not all inclusive. Check Mi Drive for daily lane closure information.

Studies

Studies help MDOT determine project need, as well as environmental, cultural, and social impacts. Studying a proposed project/area and giving the public an opportunity to participate in the transportation decision-making process ensures a better outcome for all Michigan residents. Learn about upcoming public meetings and the reports generated by each study.
