MDOT buys a variety of services, supplies and materials for use on state highways. Purchasing Services is responsible for the administration of the procurement of supplies, materials, equipment, services, printing, minor routine road maintenance and non-construction/maintenance highway contracts through the use of sound, prudent and consistent competitive bidding practices.

Purchasing Opportunities
Purchases of less than $50,000 can be processed directly by select MDOT staff statewide. Vendors can contact MDOT staff at the region offices to advise them of the services and supplies and materials they sell. Region staff will work with MDOT, Contract Services Division, Purchasing Section to process the procurement using the appropriate method.
Purchases in excess of $50,000 are processed by MDOT, Contract Services Division, Purchasing Section and/or the Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) depending on the purchase type. The State of Michigan uses a competitive solicitation process. Potential bidders must register on the SIGMA Vendor Self Service (VSS) System to bid on the State of Michigan solicitations. SIGMA VSS lists state opportunities over $50,000. Registration is free and new bids are posted daily.
