Michigan Aeronautics Commission (MAC)

The Michigan Aeronautics Commission (MAC) is responsible for the general supervision of all aeronautics within the state. It is empowered by the Aeronautics Code of the State of Michigan, Act 327 of 1945 to make rules and regulations governing all airports, flight schools and other aeronautical activities.

Appointments to the Commission are made by the governor and are subject to the advice of the senate. Regular meetings of the MAC are generally held bimonthly in January, March, May, July, September, and November at various locations across the state and are open to the public per the Open Meetings Act 267 of 1976.
