John H. Huss

1910-1963

Among his many accomplishments as the director of the Michigan Municipal League (1945-1963), few stood out more than Huss' efforts to obtain improved state financial aid for municipal roads and streets. Concurrently, he helped forge a cooperative relationship among state, county and local governments that enabled them to present mutually agreeable highway programs to the Legislature. Joint highway needs studies and the basic State Highway Law of 1951 were among the results. Huss was a longtime leader of the Michigan Good Roads Federation and was its president in 1952.
