Three US-2 roadside facilities to close for maintenance work

ST. IGNACE, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be closing three roadside facilities in the eastern Upper Peninsula temporarily next week for maintenance work.
Beginning Monday, July 18, MDOT crews will be using heavy equipment to remove trees and brush at Bridge View Scenic Overlook, Gros Cap Roadside Park, and Epoufette Scenic Overlook, all on US-2 in Mackinac County. The work is to remove trees and brush on the hillsides to regain views of the Straits of Mackinac and to prepare for future fence replacements.
Each facility is anticipated to be closed for approximately one workday. All work is expected to be completed by Wednesday, July 20.
