LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is hosting a public meeting to discuss the draft noise report for the US-127/I-496 corridor from I-96 to I-69 in Ingham and Clinton counties.

Project information:
A traffic noise study was conducted to assess the traffic noise environment associated with the US-127/I-496 corridor project. The planned project for this area includes rebuilding the freeway between I-96 and I-496, concrete pavement repairs and asphalt resurfacing of the freeway and interchange ramps between I-496 and I-69, and a variety of work on 35 bridges ranging from preventive maintenance to rebuilding. Work is currently scheduled to begin in 2023.
The noise study analyzed the entire project area for traffic noise impacts and potential noise mitigation. The draft technical report and information on MDOT’s noise abatement program are both available on MDOT's website.
Public comment:
MDOT is currently seeking public input on the draft noise report. Comments can be submitted via an online comment form, e-mail, phone, and in person at the public meeting. Provide your comments by Nov. 17, 2022.
