New traffic pattern implementation on Lansing Road begins Thursday

LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will implement a new traffic pattern on Lansing Road under the Canadian National Railroad in Lansing. Northbound Lansing Road will be converted to one through-lane under the railroad bridge.

Traffic restrictions:
This work will require closing northbound Lansing Road during restriping work. Traffic will be detoured via Waverly Road, St. Joseph Street, and Main Street.
Motorists should follow posted detours or seek alternate routes.
Safety benefit:
This new traffic pattern and lane reduction will provide larger shoulder widths under the bridge and allow for further observation and evaluation of the bridge.
