I-75 BL (Woodward Avenue) and South Boulevard intersection improvements begin in Oakland County

PONTIAC, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will begin intersection improvements at I-75 Business Loop (BL) (Woodward Avenue) and South Boulevard in Pontiac today.

MDOT is investing $3.1 million to complete intersection safety improvements on I-75 BL (Woodward Avenue) at South Boulevard. The project will reconstruct southbound I-75 BL and install indirect left turns.

Traffic restrictions:
Initially, northbound and southbound I-75 BL will remain open, with one lane of traffic closed in each direction. Delays are expected during the morning and afternoon drive times.

Safety benefit:
This project will improve safety by changing the existing direct left turn movements to indirect left turns, improving pedestrian crossings, and installing new traffic signals.
