Improvements on M-43 in Meridian Township resume Monday

LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will resume improvements on the M-43 (Grand River Avenue) project in Okemos. This work is part of MDOT's ongoing improvements on M-43 between Park Lake Road and Oak Point Court.

MDOT is investing approximately $12 million to perform resurfacing and drainage improvements on M-43. Work will update CATA bus stop access throughout the corridor, complete Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) ramp safety improvements, add pedestrian refuge islands to key crossings, and resurface M-43 between Marsh Road and Park Lake Road.

Funding for this project is made possible by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's Rebuilding Michigan program to rebuild the state highways and bridges that are critical to the state's economy and carry the most traffic. The investment strategy is aimed at fixes that result in longer useful lives and improve the condition of the state's infrastructure.
