US-31 resurfacing begins next week between Pentwater and Ludington
April 17, 2023
MUSKEGON, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will invest $2.5 million to resurface approximately 2 miles of US-31 between Meisenheimer Road and Chauvez Road. Work also includes installing new culverts at four locations along this stretch of US-31.
Monday, April 24, 2023
Estimated end date:
Full closures will be needed for culvert replacement. Beginning April 24, northbound US-31 will be detoured for approximately two weeks, then southbound will be closed and detoured for approximately one week in early May. Traffic will be detoured using Pere Marquette Highway between Oceana Drive (Exit 158) and Pere Marquette Highway (Exit 166). Drivers should expect lane closures throughout the project.
Based on economic modeling, this investment is expected to directly and indirectly support 30 jobs.
This work will improve the driving surface of the road and extend the service life of the roadway.
