Bridge replacement on Seaway Drive over the Black Creek begins Monday

MUSKEGON, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will invest $10 million to replace the northbound US-31 Business Route (Seaway Drive) bridge over the Black Creek in Norton Shores. The southbound bridge will be replaced in 2024.

Traffic restrictions:
Lane closures and traffic shifts will be in effect on northbound US-31 Business Route between Shettler Road and Hoyt Street. Getty Street and Grand Haven Road will be closed and detoured.

Based on economic modeling, this investment is expected to directly and indirectly support 120 jobs.

Safety benefit:
This project will provide two new bridges to replace the original structures built in 1957.
