Maintenance repairs require closing Larned Street overpass and I-375 in Detroit starting Monday

DETROIT, Mich. - Weather permitting, Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) contract crews will close the Larned Street overpass above I-375 at 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 7. The closure is necessary to allow crews to safely repair the bridge's substructure and driving surface above I-375.

During the bridge closure, Larned Street traffic will be detoured in both directions via the service drives, Jefferson Avenue and Lafayette Street.

To safely conduct the substructure repairs, crews will close northbound I-375 from Jefferson Avenue to Larned Street. The continuous freeway closure begins at 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 7. Northbound traffic will use westbound Jefferson Avenue to the northbound service drive to enter northbound I-375.

Southbound I-375 will be closed at Larned Street daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. starting Monday, Aug. 7. Traffic will be detoured via the East Jefferson/Larned Street exit to the southbound service drive to Jefferson Avenue.

The overpass and freeway closures are expected to end the evening of Monday, Aug. 14.
