CAV corridor pilot project update: Continuous lane closure on westbound I-94 in Wayne County starts Tuesday

- Starting at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, crews will implement a continuous left-lane closure on westbound I-94 from Belleville to Rawsonville roads until late November.
- From Tuesday through Saturday, there will be two lanes closed on westbound I-94 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
- Work is needed to install a temporary barrier wall along the left lane for safety purposes.
BELLEVILLE, Mich. - Weather permitting, crews will close the left lane of westbound I-94 from Belleville to Rawsonville roads starting at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22. The continuous lane closure is expected to remain in place until late November.
During the initial week ending Saturday, Aug. 26, the left and center lanes of westbound I-94 will be closed daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The lane closures are needed to install a temporary barrier wall for shoulder widening and resurfacing to support the ongoing connected and automated vehicle (CAV) corridor pilot project.
