Eastbound M-102 (8 Mile Road) traffic shift from M-1 (Woodward Avenue) to M-53 (Van Dyke Avenue) begins Sept. 20
September 19, 2023
DETROIT, Mich. - Beginning Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 20, crews will shift traffic on eastbound M-102 (8 Mile Road) from M-1 (Woodward Avenue) to M-53 (Van Dyke Avenue) onto the newly rebuilt two right lanes. This work to shift traffic is expected to take a few hours. Please drive cautiously through this stretch as workers will be moving barrels in live traffic in order to redirect vehicles.
Once traffic is shifted, crews will begin to rebuild the left lanes, medians and crossovers, including the intersections of John R. Street, Dequindre Street, Ryan Road, Mound Road, and M-53 (Van Dyke Avenue). During work on each crossover, nearby crossovers will remain open for turnarounds.
In early October, westbound M-102 will have traffic shifted to the right lanes from M-53 (Van Dyke Avenue) to M-1 (Woodward Avenue) to allow for work in the left lanes, median and crossovers.
