MDOT public open house March 18 for M-20 improvements in Isabella County

MT. PLEASANT, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) invites the public to attend an open house to learn more about upcoming work on M-20 in Isabella County. MDOT is investing $18.9 million to improve 1.6 miles of M-20 from US-127 to Mission Street. Attendees will be able to view project information, including the anticipated timeline and traffic plans. Project staff will be present and available to answer questions.

Project information:
This is the second phase of a two-year project to improve M-20 from US-127 to Mission Street. During the 2023 construction season, crews addressed the M-20 corridor east from Packard Road to west of US-127.

The 2024 phase of this project includes pavement, storm sewer, and sidewalk improvements, as well as pump station and bridge improvement work on M-20 from Packard to Mission Street. Work is expected to begin on March 18 and end on Nov. 14.

Traffic will be maintained with lane closures and traffic shifts. One lane will remain open in each direction.
