US-127 work begins March 18 in Gratiot County

MT. PLEASANT, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing approximately $37 million to improve 6.6 miles of US-127 from M-57 to north of Bagley Road in Gratiot County. This project includes resurfacing work and pavement repairs, indirect left turns, guardrail work, sign work, resurfacing of the carpool lot of US-127, and bridge and culvert work over Bad River, Bear Creek and Wolf Creek.

Traffic restrictions:
Traffic will be maintained with lane closures and traffic crossovers. One lane will remain open in each direction at all times.

Based on economic modeling, this $37 million investment is expected to directly and indirectly support 525 jobs.

This work will improve the driving surface of US-127 while preserving the structural integrity of bridges and culverts.
