MDOT operates and maintains 14 Welcome Centers along major Michigan highways, offering Pure Michigan travel information and services. Travel counselors assist over 5 million visitors each year.
Each center provides 2,000+ free brochures plus amenities like walking paths, geocaches, dog areas, picnic spots, grills, drinking fountains and play areas.
Services are supported through partnerships with Michigan Convention and Visitor Bureaus, tourism businesses, Travel Michigan and MDOT.
