HOUGHTON, Mich. - Contractors for the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will continue work requiring a lane closure of the Portage Lake Lift Bridge between Houghton and Hancock next week.
Motorists should expect closure of the outside southbound lane on the bridge Monday through Friday. The lane closure will allow for curb work on the lower bridge deck and minor concrete patching.
This work is part of the ongoing repair project (expected to be completed in early June) to help ensure continued safe and reliable operation of the bridge.
