LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) invites the public to attend an open house regarding the project on M-17/US-12 Business Route (BR) (Washtenaw Avenue, Hamilton Avenue, and Huron Street) to repair pavement, install bike lanes, upgrade pedestrian crossings, and build a nonmotorized pathway. Work is currently scheduled to begin immediately. During this meeting, there will be a brief presentation at 6 p.m. followed by an informational open house.

Background:
MDOT, in partnership with the City of Ypsilanti, will be repairing the existing pavement, reduce lanes, reconfigure intersections, and install new buffered bike lanes on Washtenaw Avenue, Hamilton Avenue, and Huron Street from Cross Street to Harriet Street.
In partnership with the City of Ypsilanti and Ypsilanti Township, MDOT is also planning to build a new nonmotorized pathway on the Huron Street bridge over I-94. The pathway will connect the city of Ypsilanti and Ypsilanti Township for nonmotorized users by providing a safe and separated path over the freeway.
