Detour starts July 11 for M-66 culvert replacement north of East Jordan

GAYLORD, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will invest $1 million to replace the culvert carrying Monroe Creek beneath M-66, north of East Jordan in Charlevoix County.

Traffic restrictions:
To reduce the overall duration of the project, traffic will be detoured during work. M-66 through-traffic between Lord Road and Lacroix Road will be detoured on US-131, M-88 and US-31. Alternatively, drivers can take M-32, US-131 and US-31. 

Jobs numbers:
Based on economic modeling, this investment is expected to directly and indirectly support 13 jobs. 

Safety benefit:
This work will extend the service life of the culvert and roadway.
