US-12 (Michigan Avenue) project begins Tuesday in west Dearborn in Wayne County

DEARBORN, Mich. -The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will invest $17.9 million to mill and resurface US-12 (Michigan Avenue) between Oakwood Boulevard and Greenfield Road over a two-year period. This year’s work is between Oakwood Boulevard and M-39 (Southfield Freeway) and next year between M-39 and Greenfield Road. The work includes curb/gutter, guardrail, and drainage improvements, along with traffic signal modernization, sidewalk upgrades, and sign upgrades.
Beginning 7 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, crews will reduce traffic along US-12 between Oakwood Boulevard and Greenfield Road to two lanes in each direction. During nights, weekends, and off-peak times, traffic may be reduced to one lane.
