MDOT resurfacing US-12/M-99 in Hilldale County beginning Monday, July 7
July 01, 2025
LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will have single-lane closures beginning Monday on US-12 between Pine Drive and Concord Road and on M-99 (Evans Street) from US-12 to Grant Street to implement a trial road diet on US-12 from M-99 (Walnut Street) to Concord Road (five-lane to three-lane conversion). Work includes resurfacing and installing Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant sidewalks, lighting, bike lanes, a trail crossing and new pavement markings.
Upon completion of the project, MDOT will evaluate the operations of the roadway to determine if the road diet should be made permanent.
"Across Michigan, we are moving dirt and fixing the damn roads to grow our economy, helping Michiganders go to work, drop their kids off at school and run errands safely," said Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. "By the end of this construction season, we will have fixed, repaired or replaced nearly 24,500 lane miles of roads and 1,900 bridges, supporting thousands of good-paying, local jobs without raising taxes by a dime. This year, let's build on our momentum to pass a bipartisan local road funding plan so we can keep fixing our damn roads and creating good-paying, local jobs."
