Mackinaw Welcome Center to close Oct. 17 for window replacement, bathroom upgrades

GAYLORD, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will invest $409,000 to replace all windows in the Mackinaw City Welcome Center, as well as floor and wall tiles in the facility’s bathrooms.

Traffic restrictions:
The Welcome Center and parking lots will be completely closed during the project, as the bathrooms will be under construction and contractors will be staging dumpsters and materials in the parking lots.

Safety benefit:
This work will improve the energy efficiency of the building and provide a cleaner, updated appearance to the bathrooms.
