Traffic signal upgrades at six intersections in northern Lower Michigan begins March 20

GAYLORD, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will invest $475,000 to upgrade traffic signals at six intersections:

Counties:
Antrim, Benzie, Manistee, and Missaukee

Highways:
US-131, US-31, M-66, M-115, and M-55

Closest cities:
Mancelona, Elk Rapids, Benzonia, Manistee, and Lake City

Monday, March 20, 2023

Estimated end date:
June 23, 2023

Traffic restrictions:
Drivers should expect lane closures and traffic shifts.

Jobs numbers:
Based on economic modeling, this investment is expected to directly and indirectly support about six jobs.

Safety benefit:
This work will improve traffic operations and pedestrian facilities at these intersections.
