MDOT public open house Nov. 30 for I-194 PEL study in Calhoun County

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) invites the public to provide input on a planning and environmental linkages (PEL) study for I-194 in Calhoun County. Through this comprehensive study, MDOT will evaluate environmental and traffic safety issues, and possible improvements for future construction.

Project information:
The PEL study will focus on the I-194 corridor from the north side of the I-94/I-194 interchange to Fountain Street in Battle Creek. The study is evaluating options, including the benefits and impacts of rebuilding the corridor as a boulevard. I-194 plays a significant role in Calhoun County by providing regional connections to I-94 and downtown Battle Creek. The PEL study is a collaborative process that considers environmental, community, and economic goals in transportation planning.
