Public meeting next week in Zeeland for I-196 BL rebuilding project

ZEELAND, Mich. – The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is hosting a public meeting next week on this year’s project to rebuild the I-196 Business Loop (BL) between US-31 and I-196. MDOT officials will provide project details, current scheduling information and the proposed detour routes. The public is invited to stop by anytime during the meeting to learn more about the project and provide comments.

Project information:
MDOT is investing approximately $17 million to rebuild 4.5 miles of eastbound and westbound I-196 BL from US-31 in Holland to 88th Avenue in Zeeland. Work includes asphalt resurfacing, full-depth concrete joint repairs, new signs, traffic signal work, and new guardrail.
