Road closures in Emmett Township for I-94 bridge work

MARSHALL, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will closing two local roads at I-94 for bridge work as part of the three-year, $160 million project on I-94 between Helmer Road and 17 1/2 Mile Road in Calhoun County. M-294 (Beadle Lake Road) and 6 1/2 Mile Road in Emmett Township will be closed and detoured starting this weekend.

Traffic restrictions:
Beadle Lake Road will be closed at I-94 on Saturday, April 13, and Sunday, April 14. The posted detour is on B Drive North, I-194/M-66, and Columbia Avenue. The I-94 ramps at Beadle Lake Road will remain open.

6 1/2 Mile Road will be closed at I-94 from Sunday, April 14, through Friday, Aug. 30. The posted detour is on B Drive North, I-194/M-66, Columbia Avenue, and Beadle Lake Road.

Jobs numbers:
Based on economic modeling, this investment is expected to directly and indirectly support 2,032 jobs.

Funding for this project is made possible by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's Rebuilding Michigan program to rebuild the state highways and bridges that are critical to the state's economy and carry the most traffic. The investment strategy is aimed at fixes that result in longer useful lives and improves the condition of the state's infrastructure.
