US-2 closed to through-traffic in Wisconsin for utility work
May 13, 2024
CRYSTAL FALLS, Mich. - Utility work being performed across the border in Wisconsin will be impacting Michigan traffic. US-2/US-141 is closed for deep sanitary sewer work between Pewabic Street and Fisher Lake Road in Florence, Wisconsin, requiring a detour on Michigan highways.
Eastbound US-2 through-traffic is being detoured at Crystal Falls via M-69 and M-95 to US-2 in Iron Mountain. The detour is reversed for westbound traffic. Outside of the closure area, US-2 remains open to local traffic. Access to local businesses will be maintained during the project.
The project is being managed by Florence Utilities at 715-528-3330. Work began today and is expected to be finished before the July Fourth holiday.
