M-30, M-65, M-68 resurfacing in four counties starts May 11

ALPENA, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will invest $2.8 million to resurface 26 miles of four highway segments in Presque Isle, Alcona, Iosco and Ogemaw counties:

Presque Isle, Alcona, Iosco and Ogemaw

Highways:
M-68, M-65 and M-30

Closest communities:
Rogers City, Glennie, Whittemore and West Branch

Monday, May 11, 2026

Estimated end date:
Friday, July 17, 2026

Traffic restrictions:
This work will require shoulder closures and lane closures with traffic regulators.

Jobs numbers:
Based on economic modeling, this investment is expected to directly and indirectly support 24 jobs.

Safety benefit:
This project will extend the service life of these highways, providing a smoother driving surface and will include new pavement markings.
