New lights to be installed on US-131 through the S-curve

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing approximately $9 million to remove and replace the lighting on northbound and southbound US-131 between Wealthy and Pearl streets in Grand Rapids. The project includes new lights, poles and foundations.

Lane closures, ramp closures and traffic shifts will be in effect throughout the project.

The new lighting, poles and foundations will increase safety by improving visibility through this stretch of US-131 in downtown Grand Rapids, known as the S-curve.
