I-94 ramp reopens as US-131 project in Kalamazoo nears completion
September 03, 2026
KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) and contractor Milbocker and Sons Inc. have substantially completed the $13.4 million project to add an auxiliary lane to northbound US-131 between I-94 and Stadium Drive in Kalamazoo.
Westbound I-94 Exit 74B to northbound US-131 has reopened but there will be intermittent single-lane closures through the project’s anticipated completion on Friday, Sept. 18, as crews finish installing signs.
Based on economic modeling, this investment is expected to directly and indirectly support 113 jobs.
