M-66 Rebuilding Project – Ionia

About this project

In partnership with the City of Ionia, Ionia and Berlin townships, and the Ionia County Road Department, MDOT is rebuilding approximately 2 miles of M-66 (Dexter Street) from Tuttle Road north to Wells Street. Work includes rebuilding the roadway, upgrading stormwater infrastructure, bridge improvements over the Grand River, signal work and replacing a culvert south of Riverside Drive. The project was awarded a $350,000 federal Transportation Alternatives Grant to help build a new nonmotorized path from Tuttle Road north to the bridge over the Grand River to provide space for those walking, biking or rolling between Ionia and areas south of the city, including connections to schools on Tuttle Road east of M-66.
