Welcome Centers

MDOT operates and maintains 14 Welcome Centers along Michigan's major freeways and roads, offering travelers Pure Michigan tourism information and services.

Staffed by knowledgeable travel counselors, these centers assist more than 5 million visitors annually and collaborate with the state's tourism industry to promote Michigan's destinations, attractions and activities.

Each center features more than 2,000 free brochures and visitor guides, along with amenities such as walking paths, geocaches, dog exercise areas, picnic tables, grills, drinking fountains and children’s play areas.

These resources are made possible through partnerships with Michigan Convention and Visitor Bureaus, tourism-based businesses, Travel Michigan and MDOT.
