Grants

We administer grants that make communities healthier, safer and more vibrant. These grants enable our local partners to promote the lifestyles we all enjoy by providing recreational opportunities, enhancing wildlife habitat and ensuring public safety.

5-Year Recreation Plan

To be eligible to apply for certain grants, a community must submit an approved 5-Year plan by February 1 of the year they apply. 

Grant workshops

An annual workshop is held to cover program updates and application guidance for the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund, Land and Water Conservation Fund, and Recreation Passport Grant Program.

MiGrants

MiGrants is an online grant-management system. Many DNR grants are managed using MiGrants. For information on which grant’s utilize MiGrants, visit the grant program’s page. Additional information and log-in guidance is also available.

Recognition plaques

Recognition plaques are required for many grant programs such as the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund, Land and Water Conservtion Fund, Recreation Passport Grant Program, and Clean Michigan Initiative
