Category B - Villages and Small Cities

Effective February 22, 2021, applications for the FY 2022 Category B Small Cities and Villages grant program are now being accepted. In order to be considered for funding, complete applications must be submitted by Tuesday, June 1, 2021.

 

Parameters of the program

  • Cities or Villages of populations of 10,000 or less per the 2010 U.S. Census are eligible
  • The maximum Grant is $250,000 with 50% minimum cash match
  • Any road construction work other than regular maintenance is eligible
  • Geographical distribution is a selection criterion
  • Agencies may apply for funding in consecutive years
  • An agency’s capacity to raise additional funding to invest in street repairs will be considered

We encourage:

  • Applications for projects on roadways that are ineligible for federal-aid or TEDF Category D
  • Applications for projects that can be completed by the end of the 2022 construction season
  • Capital preventative maintenance projects
  • Combining eligible work with other infrastructure work
  • Combining eligible work with similar work being performed by another road agency

Resolutions of Support including a commitment of the matching funds from agencies’ governing body will be required

Only one application per agency will be accepted (however, please note that the application form accommodates multiple roadways)‚Äč
