MDOT - FHWA Partnership

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), Local Public Agencies and tribal transportation agencies own the MI transportation system and make key decisions on how to deliver projects, as well as what techniques and technologies to use in the operation and safety on our highway system. MDOT partnered with the Federal Highway Highway Administration (FHWA) and together work toward innovating our transportation system through a State Transportation Innovation Council (STIC), the Every Day Counts Initiative (EDC), and the Accelerated Innovation Deployment (AID) Demonstration program.
