Northbound I-675 final detour for bridge work in Saginaw starts June 6

BAY CITY, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will complete the final phase of bridge maintenance work on northbound I-675 in Saginaw. This work will require a full detour for two to four weeks. 

This work is part of a $10.5 million investment to improve more than 8 miles of I-675 with concrete pavement repairs, and work to address maintenance needs on 36 bridges and culvert structures. Work started in April 2021 and is expected to be complete in June.

Traffic restrictions:
On June 6, crews will close and detour northbound I-675 from the south junction of I-675/I-75 to Michigan Avenue. Traffic will be detoured via northbound I-75 and southbound I-675. Crews expect work to be complete by June 25, weather dependent.

Based on economic modeling, this investment is expected to directly and indirectly support 133 jobs. 

Safety benefit:
This work will improve safety for crews and motorists while critical bridge repairs and maintenance are completed on the I-675 corridor.
