Project information:
A traffic noise study was conducted to assess the traffic noise environment associated with the US-12 and M-51 intersection improvement project in Niles. The project includes improvements to both US-12 and M-51. In addition to the interchange modifications, the project includes intersection and signal improvements, pavement, and sidewalk repairs.
The noise study analyzed the entire project area for noise impacts and potential noise mitigation. The draft technical report and information on MDOT’s noise abatement program are both available on MDOT's website.
Public comment:
MDOT is currently seeking public input on the draft noise report. Comments can be submitted via an online comment form, e-mail, phone, and in person at the public meeting. Provide your comments by August 22, 2022.
