M-57 bridge repairs over the Flint River start June 12
May 31, 2023
BAY CITY, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will invest $1.9 million in critical bridge repairs on M-57 over the Flint River in Genesee County. Work includes pavement repairs to the bridge deck and approaching pavement, beam repairs, guardrail, placing additional rip rap, and epoxy seal coating.
Monday, June 12, 2023
Estimated project end date:
This work will require lane closures and traffic shifts via a temporary signal. Work on the signal may begin as early as June 1 to stage the project site prior to bridge work. Signal work will require intermittent lane impacts, with nearly all work occurring from the shoulder of M-57.
Based on economic modeling, this investment is expected to directly and indirectly support nearly 23 jobs.
This project is intended to improve the condition of the M-57 bridge, extending the life of the structure.
