Project background:
Through the I-375 reconnecting communities project, MDOT plans to convert the I-375 freeway into a street-level boulevard with signalized intersections. The project will address outdated interchange design and deteriorated bridges to meet existing and future transportation needs, improve connectivity and access for all users, and align with local future development and placemaking opportunities. The project is taking an equitable approach to incorporating the history of the Black Bottom and Paradise Valley neighborhoods that were removed for urban renewal and construction of the freeway. More information can be found at www.Michigan.gov/I375.
